Angry Update: GTO Shift **** project

DELAYED! Ordered the **** and boot about a week ago. Went to pick it up today and the boot isn't a boot. It's a plastic thingy that the metal shifter goes through. So I returned that and tried to order the real boot (cloth like substance that goes over and around the metal shifter). well they couldn't find it...I'm like you can't find it? This is a parts department correct? So I say I'll find the friggin part numbers and get back to you, thanks. Also the **** isn't complete (my fault). I never stopped to think that the metal part of the **** isn't considered part of the ****, so basically I have to go back and order like 3 more parts. Also have to wait for Speed Inc to get some pro 5.0's back in stock, they said 1-2 weeks for that. So in 1-2 weeks I should be able to start fabing up some work!!!

If anyone can link me or pm me to where I can find parts diagrams on GTO transmissions/shift **** parts that would help alot. I'm not having much success finding any info or part numbers on it. Thanks.

Yeah, I really like that too. Let all of us know once you getit finished how much all the parts cost you and how much effort was involved with it.

don't know what your refering to...if your refering to Jennings Chevy then I would agree with ya. But if your refering to the shifter itself well feel free to look at many of the sponsers on the right side of the page, many of them sell shift **** that would be more suited to your taste.

I think he's referring to the **** being 12 different pieces and the fact that it's a PIA to get them. Should look sweet if you can get it to work though, Hmmmm.... I've been looking for an alternative to the stock hurst ****.

lol sorry about not being specific, i think it was late that night.

but ya f-bodman got it right. It looks nice !! once you figure it out for us I might do it as well =) I like my flameball but I've been looking into fixing up the interior and make it look a bit more classy. even the e-brake looks nice, i was thinking tho if we were able to add both, they would look a bit out of place in our cheap plasticy center console. but who knows, I'm looking at changing my two tone black / tan interior to black / red and these would mix nicely. good luck in your search and keep us updated.

If you want to buy from me I'll get you the rest of the auto parts for it. And I'll ship it out to ya. PM me about a price or AIM/AOL im StoleIt2x. Please do this ASAP since I want to go to Jennings and order the rest of the manual shifter, and while im there I might as well order the rest of urs if ya want it. Just a warning though it is not cheap, I was originally quoted over $150 for just the shifter (incomplete peice I have) and the boot.
