Me and a buddy of mine did it our self's;

All you need is to go to Auto Zone, O'riley, Home Depot,etc and get chrome spray paint and clear coat.

Remove the mesh plastic piece by putting in a screw driver or long skinny piece and popping the pieces out.

Then paint them with the chrome spray paint and let them dry for a few hours. Once they are dry put ALOT of clear coat on top of the paint.... we did it about 6 months ago and they are still going strong....!!!

I made some out of metal mesh material available at home depot in the roofing section. It isn't perfect but it looks pretty good. You can see pics here:

I just traced the stock hood vents onto the mesh and cut with tin snips. Took about 45 minutes.

Ignore the ridiculous amount of sand in my engine bay. The roads in Houston are horrible. I wash out the engine bay every 2 weeks and I get that amount of accumulation!

You should be able to find stainless at least,
and put a polish to it. I have a piece of scrap
that has a roughly 1/8" pitch that I fished out
of the trash at the dealership speed shop.
They were using it on 'Vette ducts somewhere.
Don't know where they got it but, it exists....
