Default How to remove paint on calipers?

How do you remove paint from calipers? The car came with orange painted calipers, I want silver. Should i just prime and paint over the orange? Or should i try and strip them? The orange looked like it went on without cleaning, or prepping, just kinda sprayed. its a shitty job and i want to redo it. Any ideas?

Just scuff them up with sandpaper prime them then paint them the color you want. Make sure they are free of grease and dirt before painting.

Yeah, you don't really have to strip it all off.

I had mine sandblasted to take off the old paint I had on them. Cost me $30, and everything came out beautifully. You don't really need to do this though

If you can tape everything off really good there is a can of spray on paint remover (aircraft grade) at PepBoy's or AutoZone. You just spray it on and wipe them paint off, it cleans down to the bare metal, then you can scuff up the metal just a bit with some sandpaper for the new paint.

I just sanded them down, and then sprayed Brakleen brake cleaner on generously. Then painted, came out great.
