Default Painting break calipers

Just went to Pep Boys

Picked up some spray paint for my calipers, just wondering if I picked up the right stuff.

Aluminum engine enamel resists heat to 500degrees
Universal Black engine enamel resists heat to 500degrees
Clear engine enamel resists heat to 500degrees

The cap to the Universal black looks gloss, but I am worried about that because I want it to be pretty shiney/glossy

but are the temps ok, I know I have seen people on here buy paints that are 900 degrees, even 1200 degrees so is 500 ok?

Also what grit sandpapers should I use, I did a search already, but couldn't find much....So far I am thinking going to Home Depot getting some rough sand paper and then fine sand paper, spray with simple green and blah blah blah.

What's up man..

Those temp paints will be just fine..

As far as the painting goes, I used a dremel with a 60grit wheel to remove all of the lines on the face of the calipers. I also rounded the edges to make everything look nice and clean.

Then a 200grit wheel to smoothin things out a bit.
Then I used a 400grit sheet and cleaned things up by hand a bit.

After that, spray it down with a non-chlorine brake cleaner. Wipe off with a clean rag. Now you're ready to paint.

For me:
-3 layers of black
-1 clear
-decals
-2 more final coats of clear

In case you're worried about overspray, you can spray the paint directly into the cap of the paint can and use a soft bristle paint brush and brush the paint on. It takes a littler longer, but there is less masking work and less cleanup. Plus that engine enamel levels itself incredibly well.
