Default How to polish stainless exhaust tips back to "new" shine?

How do you polish pre-polished stainless exhaust tips to look like new? I used some polish I had laying around and now my exhaust tip looks a little hazy in the sun. Is there a really good cream polish out there for stainless or something?

I use Wenol on my SLP tips. It seems to work just fine!

I've had good luck with Lustre Lace. You can probably find it locally at a Harley dealer.

Eagle One Never Dull works good for me.

Some simichrome or similar product works very well. You can usually get some of it at knife / gun shops.

just did mine this weekend. Apply some Blue Magic to the tips then remove it with a cotton polisher on a dremel. Very easy, very fast, and look like new again.

Mine usually shine up alright with soap and water, but I have noticed that they've gotten some soot really burned/caked on right on the bottom inside lip. The Eagle One I've used before doesn't seem to get it. What else would work? Maybe a little more abrasive?

Simichrome will take that right off!

I'll have to look for some. Do you use a dremel type polisher with it, or just apply it by hand?

I use simichrome polish too, it works wonders. You can get it at most Harley Davidson shops and Hog specialty shops.
Bikers have known about this stuff since the early '70's.

You could use a dremel, but you shouldn't need to.

Just use a soft cloth to apply it. You rub it till it turns black and then buff it off with an old cotton t-shirt or buffing cloth.

I've always had great luck with Mother's aluminum polish, stuff that comes in a can and is like paste. I apply it by hand with a soft towel, just keep rubbing it in until it turns a black color, wipe it off and then polish using a clean soft cotton towel. The more coats you do, the more you rub the shiner it gets.
