Default Custom !Windshield wiper mod

Step one, lift wipers to wash windshield.
Step two, unlatch hood to clean engine bay.
Step three lift hood and listen to the sickening crunch of your wiper breaking off. God i feel like such an ******* right now. I read of people doing this atleast five times and here i am. Anybody know how much it is to replace one? I'm just damn lucky i didn't break my windshield i guess. I was having such a good weekend, taking out two vert corvettes this weekend too.

HA HA done that myself Not a big deal go on ebay there are sellers that part out F-bodies I think I paid 7 or 8 bucks shipped for a new arm. Don't mean to laugh I've just done the same thing myself, and caught myself a FEW times almost doing it again!!!

Over the years of reading these type of threads....

I ALWAYS make sure of two things....

The T-tops are always locked with the key !....

The wipers are always down !....

Consider yourself lucky for only breaking the wiper arm off. I did that same thing one time, and instead of the arm breaking off, it was pushed back far enought to put a crack in my window! that was a nice $200 accident.

Maybe it won't rain anymore, and then you won't need to worry about a wiper at all We've all done stupid stuff. I ripped my driver's side mirror off and screwed up my gas door on a shrub at the end of my driveway. Stupid Winter!

^^^Winter blows. Except for the snowboarding
$20 on ebay for a pair!! looks like i'm only out $30 after shipping. Anybody wanna buy a driver's side wiper arm? Now i just have to rent a gear puller from kragen to do the install.

well mark, for some of us (me included), we learn by not only reading the posts, but also double checking by unlocking a t-top and making sure it flies off the car at speeds over 70 (and yes, it does), and also by lifting our hoods with the windshield wipers up and making sure we hear cracks (and yes, they exist, although they aren't always so damaging).

i did both in one weekend, but luckily, the windshield wipers cracked and didn't break, but the windshield did not even crack (thank god!).

That sucks, at least you didnt break the windshield. Thanks to posts like these (that should have kept you in check haha) a while back I popped the hood, felt the resistance against the wipers and quickly put it back down--Damn I got lucky!

Well my eyes pretty much popped out of my head and i slowly lowered the hood while praying my windshield was still intact. Oh yeah, update, i just blew one of my brand new nitto tires yesterday!! **** YEAH!! I have a hole in the sidewall so that tire is toast. My Nitto's have 4k on them so now i have one barely used nitto DR and three worn out Eagle F1's. I'm looking at buying a set of 4 nitto 555R 2's on ebay for like $450 unless anybody else has a better offer. I'll keep checking the classifieds.
