Default Gauges

whats the differnce between Mechanical and Electrical gauges. because i wanted to get some Autometer Sport Comp for my 2000 WS6. and wanted to try and make the light look some what orange to match my dash lights.

Electrical gauges have a sendig unit somewhere (whatever your measuring) and sends a signal electronicly to the guage, like the factory gauges. Mechanical gauges mechanically measure whatever your measuring, like oil pressure for example, mechanical will have a small hose that brings actual oil to the gauge itself. heh, that may not make too much sense, but I would go electrical personally if you plan on mounting any gauges inside the car, I wouldnt want to run an oil or coolant line inside the card
