I've got a 99Z and thought about doing this as well. How was the paint after you removed it? Was there any fading or noticable line where the molding was?

Ditched mine last summer and loved it ever since. The paint under it was mint. Just hit it with some polish and you would never know. Funny how the car was 3 years old when I got it and the moldings were already faded.

here's mine............. javascript:ShowImage('http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?fg=000000&bg=FFFFFF&migration=1&imag e=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/626000-626999/626397_15_full.jpg', 575, 461);

i love it, but you can still see some glue res up close. on mine the white color of the moulding dulled to a smokey **** yellow, it didn't match the rest of the car so i had to take them off. once i did so did some of my friends.

That's the only thing that has me hesitant about removing my molding is that I don't want any glue residue left over or have a mismatch in paint from the 5yrs of sun on the car and non under the molding. And with my car being white it'd be easier too see and more noticable.

Anyone with a 98+ Camaro with their molding removed? post some pics

1. sqeeze a little "goo gone" on the top side of the molding

2. let it soak down behind it for a minute

3. gently get up a corner of the molding

4. gently start twisting it while pulling UP on it (meaning up as in towards the sky, not away from the car). it usually comes off in one swoop.

5. clean up and throw some wax on her to polish it up
