Default Thinking about removing the side panels

On my camaro, what did you guys use? I am thinking of using fishing line, just working it behind the panel and cutting it down.

Are you speaking in terms of the side molding? If so, then yes that is what most people use. Either that or dental floss, since it's probably softer and less abrasive.

GooGone works wonders! I personally wouldn't advise the use of rubbing alcohol.

I used a hair dryer to get the molding off then used "goo be gone" to get sticky stuff off. worked like a charm.

BoonesZ, can you post some before, during and after pics? I'd like to see what the it looks like right after you took the molding off and haven't used the goobgone stuff.

Thanks...

I used my Woman's Hair dryer to heat up the molding and glue. It peeled of with no problems. Any bug n Tar remover will take the glue residue off.

I have done this on 4 cars.

Here is mine

i put a 500* heat gun to it and got the molding off, to get the glue off i soaked it with bug and tar remover for about 10min then ised a verry sharp razor blade to get it off, then wiped it down with "opps", i didnt scratch it or anything it was faded a little bit so i wet sanded it with 2000 grit and compounded it out then put some meguires #7 on it to polish it

I just ripped mine off the car one night. It took quite a long time to get off the double sided tape with a heat gun. Use paint thinner to remove the residue.

Mine came off without any problems. The glue and tape came off almost completly with little to no residue. I only had to rub my thumb on the excess glue to get it roll off. I guess it can come off very easily, or be a huge pain in the ***. Do it, it will make the car look so much better. I have pics in my link in my sig, if you care to look.
