Default Tips on painting roll bar?

Got a used 6 pt. roll bar that was painted red. Paint has chunks missing and stuff, so I'm repainting it black.

I'm trying to strip as much paint as possible using aircraft stripper. Then I'm sanding it as smooth as I can then hitting with a primer. I figure a couple of coats of high build sandable primer then I'll be able to wet sand the primer to remove any high spots.

Then I was looking at many coats of black spray paint.

Anyone have tips on making sure this comes out really nice? See any errors in my plan?

A satin or flat black would not show small flaws like a gloss black would.
