Default Door Handle Lights

What do you think? Will only come on with interior light OR may wire to just come on when I disarm the alarm... They'll be white LEDs... Cheesy or maybe kinda cool? Wonder how they install?
I was thinking to match my white LED illuminated front plate, license plate light and interior lights...

That bird looks awesome.
I'm thinking that the door handle lights would be overkill.

Check that out. It'll kinda say how I did it. 196 LEDs total and how I wired and what size resistor. Got pictures too.. One day I'll get around to doing a little write up..

I might try and make the door handle thing and see what it looks like before I start running wire.. Might be too much, but that and my interior light will be on at the same time. and the front and rear plate lights are on only when it's running...

I've seen lights below side mirrors, like on the new explorers... Seems like something, maybe a benz or BMW would have on it...

If they come on with the parking lights when arming/disarming the alarm it would look good. Having them on driving down the road might be too much.

Nah, it'd definitely only come on when I disarm the alarm (or just hook up to interior lights).. No way would I have them on driving down the road... WAY to ricy!

I need to get a little time to accomplish this... I'll make one and if I dont't like it, I just won't mount them or make the other... I'll see how it comes out and what kind of room I have to do it..

Here's some pics on how I made the rear license plate light.. Notice the socket is from a 194 LED bulb so it's just plug and play... One day when I'm bored, I"ll make another one with twice as many LEDs, maybe 2 rows of them...

BTW I also sealed the back of the board with liquid electrical tape to keep water and such from corroding it much..

Very original ideas - I like!

I saw those doorhandle lights while cruising eBay the other day and was considering on doing the same thing. I think it could be a nice touch when disarming the alarm. I'd do a simple white light, nothing tacky. Maybe even an amber to match my DRL's. Who knows.

Let me know if you go through with this. If it isn't a struggle, I may do it, too, when I have some time.

Thanks! Definitely a white light for me. it'd be unique and maybe a touch of class...?

Thanks for the reply. How exaclty do I go about wiring the LEDs onto the board? I've never done a project like that before. Also, what resistors are those? I need an excuse to go to rat shack.
