Default heitage trans am

Who made the heritage trans am? Does anyone know how they secured the shaker hood scoop to the motor? The pictures that I have seen makes me believe that it is nonfunctional, it just sits there. So how did they stick it to the motor? Does anyone think that a shaker hood scoop on a TA would look good?

I think it's attached by a stand off bolted to the intake. It would look cool shaking with the motor, but with the hood up it looks like the motor is wearing a helmet. If I did that I think I think I would attach it to the hood. At least it would let out hot air. It would be really cool if somebody could make it functional.

There's bound to be a way to make a quick release function on the stand. I am really thinking about doing this, I think it would look really cool!!

VFN sells a stock type fiberglass hood, maybe if enough people were interested they could make some with the shaker cutout already done. Then you could just fab up a brkt that would bolt to one of the many bolts on the motor (Fuel rail bolts, or coil brkt bolts) or something like that. Using a shaker from Year One or Junkyard. I miss my old 80 Trans Am

Default I'm doing it!

I am modding my '98 TA with a shaker hood! I bought a spare standard hood today, and I am watching eBay for a shaker. It has to be '70-'76, I like the open scoops. I still have to figure out how to attach it to the motor... I got a response from the guy who did the shaker for the Heritage TA, and he told me that the shaker they used was 20% larger than the original TA scoop. I'll make due with the original. I'll post pics as the job progresses.

If anyone has tried this, or has suggestions, please reply.

Have you made a move to build your version of a Heritage TA yet? I am in the process. Let's talk about it if you are serious or curious.

I've been to that freewebs site, Dynamic Designs. The site has been unfinished for months, and I kind of doubt they have built a form for the Heritage front end. There is a slide show on the site, but this pic of the Heritage TA is from another posting, not really their work. You can view the Heritage TA here: http://www.2002firehawk-c26.net/HeritageFBody.html

Re the Freewebs site, I did a little research and traced to info to a airplane shop in TX. I assume they considered making the body parts and decided against it. The site is old and never updated. They probably abandoned the idea and the site. Shame.

But I have my shaker pretty well ready for paint and may get it rolling soon. I am thinking of installing it and taking it on a road trip to G10 in Atlanta on Memorial Day.
