I have heard that Einszett and Poorboy's work pretty well by hand.

Another (possibly less effective) option is Meguiar's Scratch X.

Nothing will repair swirls or scratches by hand. Waxes and glaze will only temporarily hide them.

Find someone that can use a polisher/buffer with a fine compound, the 3M perfect it 3 is a great product for removing small blemishes or imperfections.
Then use a foam polishing pad to remove any swirls that the compound might have left behind.

Then wax it to protect your work.

Unless you are superman, you will not be able to remove swirl marks by hand.

Slight marring and hazing can be removed by hand. With a terry cloth towel and a product like poorboys ssr1/2, Dual Action Cleaner Polish, Swirl Free Polish, Intensive polish. If your looking for something local you can try the meguiars line which can be found at most paint stores. You can also try some 3m machine glaze by hand and thats non filling so it should help to assist in removing them.
Be aware you cannot get a swirl free finish whether your doing it by hand or machine. You will have better results w/ a machine i.e porter cable or a rotory (experiences users only). good luck
