Default LED Front Turn Signals, in T/A?

I want to replace my front turn-signal/running lights with LED bulbs.

What all would I need and need to do? I know the 3457 (Stock bulb) can be replaced with a 3157 (same style "plug" with LED's, right?) but I'm sure I'll need either the load reisistors or electronic flashers? Which one would be better to do, as far as ease of installation and reliability/longevity?

Thanks in advance!
Taco

Also, anybody know anything about the new wide angle LED's for the tail-lights? I'd really like to use LED's since I've noticed about 90% of Gen4 'Birds have "lopsided" tail-lights. Any advice on this as well?

Flasher:
To use LEDs for turn signals. you'll need to replace the thermal flasher with an electronic flasher. Trident EL-12 is one. You should be able to find it at any auto parts store. I dont remember the price, but I think its less than $20. There are two flasher units. One for the turn signals and one for the hazards. Both need to be replaced.

Resistor:
If you make the LED turn signal units yourself, then yes you will need resistors. If you buy premade units, then they should be complete (you dont need to add resistors). There are various manufacturers.

Question:
What do you mean "lopsided"?

For more info, search in the "Appearance & Detailing" and "Stereo & Electroincs" sections for LED. You'll find plenty.

Here are a few to get you started:

What I meant by lopsided is that on most every Firebird/Trans Am I see on the road, one of the tail lights will have the outermost light out, making them look uneven. With LED's having longer life expectancy, I thought it would help a little.

Thanks very much for the info!

Taco, what's going on?
I have the tower leds for my drls/turnsignals. I love them and it gives them the "newer" flash look. If you want to see them, give me a call or shoot me a pm and I will meet you so that you can see them.

Dude, what is up!?!?

I would love to check them out sometime. Shoot me a PM with your Cell number. I had it, but I had to get a new phone and the SIM's were not compatible for some reason, so I lost all my numbers and had to start over.

What I really need to know is what all is required to make the blinkers blink and all properly. Any help you can offer would be great!

Take care, good to hear from you!
Taco
