If the hood is flat and you have just two nostrils in the front bumper you have a non-ram air Bird. If you have a hood with two additional nostrils on top of the two nostrils in the front bumper you either have a WS6 or a Bird with an aftermarket ram air hood. If you don't know what you have I would guess it's a non-ram air car because the things are pretty flaming.

the WS-6 Ram Air has a taller air box for the Ram Air hood that won't fit under the regular T/A or Firebird hood.

He was obviously joking with you, so there's no need to get as defensive and harsh as you did. So take it easy.....

And just for your information, it is not normally called a "Ram Air" Trans Am. It is a Trans Am WS6.

Here is a picture of each for you so you can see it:

Normal Trans Am (note the flat hood and smaller stock wheels)-

Trans Am WS6 (note the "nostrils" on the hood and larger wheels)-

There is also the Formula (which looks like a V6 Firebird, but has the LS1) and the Firehawk (which can come in a few different formats, but has the LS1).

I think the 2nd "Formula" in the post above meant to say "Firehawk".

The RPO codes are the only way to determine if it is a true WS6.

Maybe it's just my eyes, but the picture of the SOM Ws6 looks like the doors are kinda sucked in a bit more than the TA... probably just the angle of the shot.
