Default License Plates?

Hey guys,

Okay, I live in Ohio = have to have front license plate

my new ws6 doesn't have a front plate and i'd like to keep it that way.

My question:

If i get a ticket, pay $10 over the ticket amount. I get a refund back for $10, and I don't cash the ticket. If I get pulled over again, will it come up as "pending" or will I just get another ticket?

I heard if you didn't cash the refund check, then it shows up as "pending" and they can't issue another ticket.

Reason I ask is because I live in a small town and the cops come down hard on it

so is this true? or what can i do?

Since you live in a small town I wouldn't push it. Small town cops can be pretty **** about some things and relentless. They will get to know your car and make life miserable.

Never heard of the pending thing, and I believe either way you can still get hit for it again. Maybe you can get one of the clear front bumper fillers and still run a plate under it. Just a thought.

I've heard about something similar. Pay a few dollars extra and they refund the difference, but don't cash the check so it's not final. I've heard it works, but it is probably an urban legend type thing. If it's a small town, you may be lucky and it doesn't get turned into the state. All of our speeding tickets and minor moving violations stay here in the city, b/c it's too much trouble to report it I guess. We only have like 2200 people. I don't have a front LP either. Just doesn't look right. It's not something you should get a ticket over, unless your attitude warrants one. I won't write a no LP ticket, but it's a good reason to stop someone to see if they're drinking, have dope, etc.

Don't believe it. Yer jus' lookiin' for trouble.
And that's not a good start for a 20yo with a new car like that, ...
Don't push yer luck.

I leave my front filler in place without any screws. It sits up there just fine. Which is good for shows. But when I know I have to cruise down the hiway or around town, I simply slip it out of it's spot to expose the legal front plate right behind it.

i might have to do that PontiacFan. I don't have the car in my hands yet, so I can't take a look at it.

LS69TA -- If I made up a bracket, so that the plate hangs down underneath the front of the nose, that would be considered legal correct?

How much ground clearance is there from the bottom of the front bumper to the ground?

**schemeing an idea in my head**

Go and file for a lost license plate. They will give you a paper saying you are now legal. Go back in 6months and file again. Problem solved.

that or the front cover is held on with 2 torx screws. just keep the plate on underneath the cover and take it off when u think its a possibility of gettng stopped.

You might want to be careful cause each state is different. That might fly in MO but here my buddy got his front plate stolen 3 times in two months (bad part of town) and each time he was told, Oh so sorry you have to buy another set. Each time a plate is lost, stolen, or altered you have to buy new plates. He finally put his plates in his back window and got a ticket for improper display of tag. You can't fight City Hall!

If that works....applying for lost plate.....that would be the best scam ever....cuz none of my cars have a front plate....but I haven't been stopped for it yet here in Illinois.
