Camaroboy on here has done it in his 68 or 69 Camaro. Dash, console, and seats. I'm doing the same. I'm installing the gauges in the a/c vents. I took the cluster out of the dash and am making an aluminum plate to mount the tach and speedo, along with a fuel pressure gauge and couple of LED's in it's place. I figured it'd be more accurate with the Autometer gauges. You just can't roll the windows down with the doors closed b/c the dash will come farther back.
