Default SS Spoiler...

How do you take off the ss spoiler on a 2001 Camaro SS?

I am trying to put the manta stripe that goes in the rear of the car on.. and I cant get the spoiler off.

is there a good site for disassembly of a 4th gen camaro and then reassembled?

Thanks

Not a problem>

1 Open the hatch
2 pull your interior hatch trim off(held on by clips)
3 Locate the wiring to third brake light and unplug
4 Locate the bolts (2) on each side, and I think maybe (2) for the middle supports?
5 Carefully remove spoiler

Hope this helps ya

ummmmm..........i don't know if my vert is different or something, but there are NO bolts that hold in the center area that look like fangs. they have VERY strong adheasive material under each one and are a bitch to remove. if thats what you come across with yours, here's a suggestion. i posted this same question a couple months ago and was told i would have to pull up and back on the spoiler. in doing so, when the glue broke free and the spoiler came off, it grabbed the paint and cracked it as well as taking a small chunck of fiberglass from the hatch!!! thankfully, that part isn't noticable once i put it back on, but the crack in the paint is going to have to be taken care of. so for the tip, try taking a razor blade and scribe around the "fangs" to give the adheasive a place to tear/break free. i hope this helps you out if there are no bolts holding it on.
