Invisible Glass + clean towel. Eagle One 20/20 works just as well, and you can use newspaper instead of a towel if you feel like it.

Here's a tip: When cleaning the inside and the outside of the windshield, run the towel in a different direction on each side. That way, if there's streaks, you can tell easily which side they're on.

I usually wash the glass with a good cleaner, currently meguiars. After the initial cleaning, I wipe it down again (maybe an hour later) without the cleaner. Seems to help get rid of all the streaks.

I had also read before that the reason for some streaks is because the windshield is so dirty that the initial cleaning only removes some of the dirt and smears the rest. Seems sensible, don't know if it is entirely correct though.

It seems to me if I use an armor-all type product on the dash pad, the "fumes" seem to cause a haze on the windshield... dont know if I'm just imagining this, but seems to be worse everytime I apply anything to the dash.

Normally, I use windex and newspaper.

And it is usually worse in the summer. Anyone try windshield wash fluid and newspaper or a cloth? Heard that one before.

Go to a glass/window repair & replace shop and see if they sell "Window-Glo" it's a neon yellow acid and comes in a 1 gallon contaner. I cleaned my windshield with Eagle 1 20/20 and I had a crack so I desided to get it fixed. They cleaned a circle with that stuff and on the way home I noticed that the circle was clearer then the rest of the windshield. So I cleaned it again with Eagle 1 20/20 and spent 20 minutes on the windshield. Took it out in the sun, no different. It's like there is a haze that you never knew you had untill you see the circle. Went and got Window-Glo, 2 minutes later it all looked the same.

Long story short get Window-Glo, it rocks!

How did you run a 12.38 with 332 RWHP? You tip the scales at 2400 lbs or what? Not doubting just curious...

I use Dawn dishsoap and water with at clean towel. Rub over the glass several times to really cut through all the film. Plastic gasses out forever plus I smoke cigars, so the film is pretty tenacious.

I finish off with a chamois wipedown. Works like a charm. You hardly know the glass is there.

Like any aspect of detailing your car, if you clean it when it isn't too dirty, its a lot easier. Don't let it go for very long. I usually wash the car once a week, and I do the inside and outside of the windshield then. I usually wait longer on the other inside windows, since it isn't very obvious. I use Stoner's Invisible Glass and crumpled up newspaper.

after you clean it get a very clean, dry towel and rub it down for about a minute. it gets rid of all the streaks.

Also I use Z6 on all the windows and it works great!

A lot of restaurants use newspaper because its lint free and still has good absorption properties.

You use newspaper because it works. A very high quality towel will work well too, but you have to keep it clean. If it isn't the greatest quality, it will leave lint on your windows.

I like that reply the best... "because it works."
