The best thing to do if you want it cleared is buy a tail panel off of a black camaro. I paif 75 for mine. I painted my first one satin black like the berger panels and it looked ok but it really looked kinda trashy. Gloss black on a red camaro would look better than flat black imo.

I didn't clear coat mine, just go to the auto parts store and get a red scuff pad and a black spray bomb. And then mask off the car.

you can do it yourself, just take out the taillights, mask it off and use satin black. it looks better than flat black and its thicker so its more forgiving. its hard to mess up satin black. i sprayed mine and it was holding up strong when i had it, and still is with the new owner.

Kinda off topic but where can you pick up an extra tail panel?

i took mine off and took it to a local bodyshop, he charged me $50 to paint it gloss black and clear coat, i got to know the guy and he told me he would get ahold of me next time he is painting a car black and he would do it then for cheap so that is what i did,

i didnt like the flat black so i went glossy

If you plan on doing it in gloss black DO NOT paint it yourself if you have no experience. If you are going with satin or low gloss black it will be easier to do on your own. Black paint is so cheap though it won't kill your wallet to have someone paint it for you. So it's up to how comfortable you are painting it yourself.

its the easiest thing in the world to do just take your tail lights out and take the pannel off its only held on with 4 bolts just sand it down and spray it its that simple.
