Electric is a lot easier to install since you don’t have to run tubes with fluid in them. The mechincal is probley a little more accurate but more of a pain to install.

That and the fact that it is very dangerous to run mechanical gauges in the cockpit. If one of the lines comes off the gauge the cabin will be filled with fuel or hot water etc. Not to mention most tracks wont let you run mechanical gauges in the drivers compartment.

Not true about the track comment, that goes for mechanical nitrous gauges and fuel pressure. I have never heard of a track having a problem with any other type of gauges.

I believe for mechanical gauges you have to run separate lines to the dash gauges themselves? Stop me if I'm wrong, but I looked into them briefly and thats why I stopped considering them. The last thing I need is oil or fuel blowing all over my dash and me when I'm driving, I'm already worried enough about antifreeze from the heater core :p
