Default This weekend's experiment

Since I've been so impressed with their other products, I'm going to give my car the "full Menzerna treatment" this weekend. Here's what I've got planned:
1) Clay (with washes)
2) Menzerna Intensive Polish (if necessary. I haven't seen any real bad spots)
3) Menzerna Final Polish
4) Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze
5) Menzerna FMJ
6) Menzerna Acrylic Spray

I plan to take lots of before, during, and after pictures. Should be fun.

I can't wait to see the pics...I wish this would have been last weekend's experiment, though, as I'm in the middle of my first "full detail" with the PC!

My steps:
1. wash/clay/wash
2. Intensive Polish
3. Final Polish II
4. Finishing Touch Glaze
5. Pinnacle Sovereign

I'm nearing the end of step 2...I move slow and it's taking forever as my SS had waaaay more swirls/scratches than I expected (damn absorber!)...

Bring it! Let me know and we can work something out. This has quickly become a fun hobby for me.

I might just take you up on that sometime. I have a polisher and have never used it... I need to learn how.

Okay, I've never heard of Menzerna (just recently learned of Zaino). So, are Menzerna and Zaino similar processes? And, which one is better or, is that a matter of opinion?

If you like a plastic looking finish, then Zaino is for you. Otherwise, Menzerna is one of the absolute best you can get, which is reflected in its price. Do a search on some Menzerna before and after pics, if those don't sell you on it, then nothing will. The only thing I like from Zaino is the new abrasive polish that gets out scratches, seems to work very well from what I've seen/heard.

To expand further on what Arctic said, Menzerna's polishes are true polishes. Zaino's polish (with the exception of the new ZPC) are sealants. Polishing is not really about shine, but is more about removing surface imperfections like scratches and swirls. Menzerna Intensive Polish, followed by Final Polish II will remove swirl marks, as opposed to masking them, like Z-5 from Zaino.

Don't take this the wrong way. I'm a big fan of Zaino's products. They have a great depth of shine and are very durable. My only complaint is that they can be TOO shiney, making the finish too sterile for my tastes. I've been using Blackfire as a sealant and have been very pleased with the results. The Menzerna FMJ is going to be a new experiment for me.

The only plastic look I've seen has come from 4 year old Zaino formulations over NO prep. I've used tons of products with no "plastic" look from any of them (with any real prep).

I could post 3 different pictures of my car with 3 different products on them, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. There's nothing wrong with Zaino...there's nothing wrong with Menzerna...there's nothing wrong with any other product that people like to use (if it works for them).

Good luck, Chup. Post some pics

Hey, Lawman. I've seen bits and pieces (as far as pics) of your car since I joined the board a couple months ago (which are quite impressive I must say). But, I haven't seen the whole enchilada yet. How about posting some pics?
