Default Need to Scrub the Intake Manifold - Any Tips?

Anyone got any tips/tricks for scrubbing the inside of an intake manifold? I was thinking a toothbrush and Simple Green might do the trick.

I used dishwashing soap, a big plastic tub, lots of hot water and one of those things to clean dishes with. (the long handled brush thing) Worked great.

I know I used lacquer to clean the oil junk off the intake ports in the head when I took my LS1 intake off.
I don't know what that would do the the plastic intake though.

I was feeling lazy and didn't want to take the manifold off. Seafoam did the trick. I discovered this morning that I hadn't quite burned it all out yesterday... left a nice smoke screen behind me.

Question about seafoam, would I have to change the plugs after this?

I would, it wouldn't hurt that's for sure.

Think of it this way... if you burnt off all that crap enough to smoke that bad, you probably beat the crap out of your plugs in the process.

8 new plugs = $15.00

Time to change plugs = 1.5-4 hours (depends on whats still on your engine and experience)

Not worrying if your plugs are toasted and chasing down that 'loss of power' = priceless.
