Default GHow many coats of nite shade???

I've put on 5 and it's not all black yet. I want it to be black but I dont want it to be nontransparent when I hit the breaks.

Install it and see how dark it is, if you havent already. Then do it a coat @ a time from there untill you achieve the darkness you want.

I've done 6 coats. I think to much. and the only clear gloss I have is polyurethane for wood. I think im going to have to strip it and start over.

Is it safe to use clear gloss for wood on these lights?

i dont know how many shade of darkness you'd need but i'm pretty sure you dont want to use the wood clear stuff on plastic, i think that it's to thick and would be better if you just got the right stuff for it. The right tool for the right job!

Yeah, I wouldnt use a wood product on plastic either. The plastic clear isnt but another $6-7 bucks or so, so its not like you're going dead broke pickin up the right stuff.

And Ive usually heard of guys using around 3 shades of Nightshade and getting the darkness they want. Like I said, install the lights and see if you can still see black in the daylight, then take 'er out for a spin.

Thanks there done I used 6 coats and I'll probebly redo it with only 5
