You don't need a kit. Go here http://www.ls1howto.com/ and on the right side you'll see F-Body Howto's, go to #14. Thats how I did mine and they came out great. Good luck.

I've got one that I'm gonna use on a friend of mines car in the next few days. I'll let ya know how it turns out. I did mine with a kit from Tirerack. It turned out great. The Dupli-color kit looks like the same thing, so it should look pretty good.

Just make sure the paint you use can take the heat. I used a caliper paint that was in rattle can.

Plastikote caliper paint is the best, IMO. I found mine at Pep Boys. It dries fast, goes on smoothly and is the best color red I've seen. Also, if you want to add caliper decals, be sure to get the GM licensed ones from www.afterthoughtsauto.com

I used 1200 degree engine paint in a rattle can. Mine was done almost a year ago and still look like the day I painted them. However I hardly drive the car, but put atleast 2000 miles on it since I painted them.

I used high temp engine paint and it came out good. It's all in the prep work, make those babys shine before you paint them and it will stick with 1 coat.
