Question Anyone have the install instructions for the Breathless Non-pop-ups?

I wanna install them tonight because my motor is going out . . . AGAIN! I got so ticked I drove over to Breathless, about 10 minutes away, and got the $1K kit.

Expecting the worst, I was mildly surprised at the quality of the product. It actually looks pretty tight

I'm gonna have some different beams fab'd next month but I want these in now

Anyone have the instructions on disk and can e-mail them to me? Breathless is gonna do it tommorow but I wanted to throw these bad boys on now

Also, what's the total weight savings? If memory serves, it was in the 50 lb. range??

I know for a fact that it picks up ~3 mph and ~2.5 1/10's in the quarter with the lights down.

FYI: I know it's more than 10lb.

Also, on the street and on the highway you can't drive with fogs only

If you have nothing intelligent nor insightful to add to the thread keep your comments to yourself . . . or start your own thread

Ok dragon, if you want to talk about intelligence, thats 100% fine with me.

You just spent 1,000$ dollars on new headlights...... that preform a fraction better then the existing ones. If my memory serves me right their not even HID.....

You seriosuly think that 2 headlights, ARE HEAVIER then 50 pounds....... LOL....... you are talking about "weight savings", so you have to factor in the weight of the new headlights... which i doubt you thought of.

I KNOW that you cannot drive on the street and on the freeway/highway without driving lights on, I NEVER said that you could. I am talking about a track, where ITS LEGAL to race your car, and where it IS LEGAL to run your cal with out the driving lights up...... becasue after all you said

"I know for a fact that it picks up ~3 mph and ~2.5 1/10's in the quarter with the lights down."

Not the best pic, but just to show you, that is it possible..

Ask the other ls1tech members what they think about dropping 1K on the breathless headlights...

But its is your car can you can do what you want...

uhm, not to burst your bubble, but your not going to drop 2 tenths by changing your headlights..sorry :-/

for 1000, u could have done a stall converter and dropped .5, or headers and dropped like .3

but as stated above, its your car, and it IS an f-body.

Wink

Whew . . . hate in another thread guys

Not gonna waste a lot of time on you since most of you have zero factual evidence.

Weight issue: I was told this by a representative of Breathless close to 2 years ago. I just can't remember what they said exactly but I know it was more than 10 lb. Whether the number they gave me is factual or not, I'd imagine a person that works for the company that manufactures the product in question would know more about said product than some of you genius' here I merely asked to see if someone actually weighed the product versus stock for a fact.

So unless you are the actual person with which I spoke so loooooong ago STFU

The time and mph issue: I LOGGED IT MYSELF

As far as performance . . . dude . . . are you high? The factory lights have a M O T O R that assists in exposing said lights for operation. This motor is well known to fail often. So: yes, the BPP performs better than the stock lighting apparatus

If you're hating because I have the money and choose to go drop it . . . sorry for your insecurities and obvious envy; jump in another thread or rent an old Tony Robbins DVD (think that's his name ).

EDIT: for the record . . . the reason for my stated 1/4 numbers which were based on factual real-world testing with lights up and down was to draw attention to the immense drag created by the pop-ups (it is alltogether possible that the drag difference between pop-up and non-pop-up would not be as great with a WS6 hood as opposed to a Firehawk/T/A/Formula hood).

Gentlemen, life isn't ALWAYS about drag-racing. Any aero-dynamic hinderance affects fuel-mileage as well as the occaisional "spirited" run on the highway. Just an FYI

To anyone whom actually might be interested in the thread topic: I installed these in less than 2 hours the same day with the assistance of a friend to mount 2 of the more difficult bolts that needed a drilled hole in the nose/fascia.

Fitment was good and quality, thus far, was surprisingly good; despite what I've read

I'm sure they're great. I just don't know how they can charge so much for them...

lol, they have to figure out some way to justify the $1k cost, so I'm sure they elaborate a little bit
