Default gauge clusters for z28, who makes the best looking ones?

i have owned 2 camaros, a 94 and now my 01 z28. the gauge cluster has always been the same color for back-lighting. Who makes the best looking gauge cluster replacements.. I dont care if the face is black, white or silver, I just want some different colors and a different glow for the numbers.

New vette gauges, mercedes and even voltwagon has great gauge lighting.

I have already changed the color bulbs in the factory, but now its time for something new. Anyone know of any or have pics..???

THANKS!!!

i think the only way you will get what your looking for is to change the bulbs.

You could look into something like this:

These just slipped on over the original and tapped into two wires. Install only took about 45 min. I think I got them from procarparts pretty cheap.

to change the bulbs:

first buy bulbs that have colored glass not painted on cheapies like autozone.
The bulbs are standard automotive bulbs, number 164 or 194 cant remember which.

then remove the gauge cluster:
first remove the dash board trim ring, I believe its only 4 screws.
Then unbolt the cluster, 4 screws also if I remember right.
Then pull out the gauge cluster, which is tricky to get it around the steering wheel but it can be done!
now with the gauge cluster removed, you will see black plastic thumb screws on the backside, just twist those off and
replace the bulb.

pay attention to which bulb it is, so you are not screwing up your, turnsignal, brights light and needle glow..

goodluck!!!
