Cool Need help removing shift **** on 98 camaro v6 automatic

Just need some help on how to remove the shift lever ****. ive looked it over and cant find anything holding it on. its driving me crazy! HELP!!!

Firebird models have a c-clip retainer in the front lower side.
Pull it back to low with the e-brake on & see if you can find one like that.
Use a small screwdriver to pry it out.

Really not up on the Camaro models so I'm not positive this will work for ya or not, ...

Not sure about the V6 but for the V8 camaros have the same c-clip like in the Firebird. I'm very positive they're the same.

Pull the shifter all the way down and then look in the front of it. There should be a little staple looking do-hickey (technical term). Just pull it out and pull the **** up. I used a pick-tool, though a small screwdriver will suffice.

yep, firebird and camaro both have the same clip, doubt it is correct

i found the clip but just need to get something small enough to get it out. thanks everyone , guess i need to get my eyes checked.

The first time getting it out is a bitch. Just don't push it in *quite* all the way when you put it back on.
