VFN just had a group purchase that ended this past Friday. The version without the line is already available -------> just check VFN's website.

4" cowl hoods just look weird on a 98-02 IMO. Better suited to the 93-97s.

a 2 1/2" cowl would be the highest i'd consider, and that's pretty much the sonoco.

The only 2 hoods I'd really consider for a '98+ are the SS hood and the Sunoco!

definitely the sunoco...I got a 2" cowl after realizing the 4" is really too big. I love the sunoco hoods too... the 3" ss hoods though my ultimate choice, just can't afford it yet

I'm sure they're primered, but nothing else.

I'd be in for a group purchase if i could get one for like $150

I'm waiting on my 4" from VFN right now. (Can't help it. I like 'em BIG!! ) They said it will come with black gel coat.

Not to barge in on your post, but I do have a question for those 'in the know'. I thought I read somewhere on here awhile back that the 4" comes from VFN with the inserts but minus the hardware to install them. Is that true? Because I went to my dealer to order the hardware and that is not an orderable part! Where would I go about getting the hardware? Is it anything special? My current hood is the flat stock bolt-on, so it's not like I would have leftover hardware from my old vents because they just aren't there!

I was just at VFN earlier today test fitting their lastest Sunco hood and I saw a couple there along with all their other awesome hoods. Whichever one you buy, buy it from VFN.

Maybe I'm confused. I ordered the 98-02 WS6 4 in. Ram Air bolt on hood which, according to the website, "comes with factory grill inserts". I had read a post on here a while back from someone who (I thought) ordered the same hood and they mentioned that the hood came with the inserts but not the hardware to install them.

Assassin your talking about a different hood, the one they are talking about is for a camaro, they dont make a cowl hood for the firebirds, unless you have a funny car, yours should come w/the inserts and hardware, i'd call who you ordered it from to double check tho

I just realized that you said 4', instead of 4"!!! Now that might cause some problems with driver vision!
