Default whats the latest on Fender flares?

I just got busted for tires sticking out past the fender lip a hair..325/50/15 BFG on Convo Pro 15x10s after driving around a year and a half. Many cops said it looks cool but a found one who was having a bad day.

I just need to extend the lip a hair. Anything commercially availble? I dont want to go ghetto.

Umm get a rim and tire combo that fits, massage the inner wheel wells and get the tire to tuck better! That would clean the car up so much better than a fender flare

I think they could look cool if done right... like on the new C6 Z06.

Those are flared fenders not "fender flares."

I hope the original poster meant flared fenders.

Well, that was what I meant by done right. I think I'd look into having a body shop flare the fenders (so it looks like it belongs) before adding flares though. I think that would look pretty cool if done right...assuming nobody makes aftermarket fenders like that already.

If your going to do it, do something like this. Looks like they are flared and slightly stretched. I believe Wheel 2 Wheel did this, Kurt (427) could probrably give you some info on it.

VFN had talked about making Sonoco style flared fenders, but they have been too busy with other projects. you could probably have the lip rolled out a bit, it might do the trick, jsut make sure whoever does it knows what the hell they are doing

i do beleive the black camaro is a ZL-1 concept car that was made around 2001 It was in a couple of mag. and all over the web. and yes all four corners were flared out to fit some nice size tires. The car also had over 600hp

You could try to see if a '96 Grand Sport Corvette fender flare will fit on the Camaro wheelwell opening. It might look good if the diameters are close enough...

That is hideous! Grand sport or not, I'd attempt to roll the fenders myself before I put those on.

Thanks for the info guys...that black camaro looks good.

I was leaning toward some Jeep Bushwacker Fender Flares...

The female cop gave me a lecture and it turns out she didnt know the PA inspection laws of course. Law reads tire tread out past the fender not tire...these BFGs have a good bulge. Im good on the passenger side...tread is right at the fender lip...but drivers side is out about 3/8"inch...good ole moser 12bolt quality...

Are you running spacers with those 15x10" rims? I have the same tires and I have 15x10 prostars and mine do not stick out past the fenders??? I guess its the back spacing right? You could narrow your rear end a inch or so so that they would tuck nicely. Is your rear end centered from left to right?

Do you have an adjustable PHB? Should fix it right up.

Yeah backspacing is different than yours...i didnt want to grind so I went with the convos. Narrowing the rear is another option but i think i would rather put the money into a tasteful fender flare or tubbing the back half of the car and putting some real big tires under it.

Actually I dont have an adjustable one...just the regular BMR...but how would that help? It would move my problem to the other side wouldnt it?
