so i ordered so called "red" cold cathode lights to put in the nose of my hood, and there freaking pink! is there anything i can do besides ordering new bulbs.

If you want true red go with LEDs

Red theater gel will do it. its hard to get a true red out of CCLs.

Yep, thats what i heard it was called someone used it on their CCL (in their computer BTW) to get a truer red from the CCL that is closer to pink than he liked. its a gel that can be applied to materials so that hte light coming through gets filtered to only the red spectrum. don't know how impervious to water it is thou.

yes most red CCFL's look pink upon actual use. However certain brands now make CCFLs that are much truer of a red. You just have to shop around.

12,000 MCDS My LEDs are only 8000 (5 of them down the center of my headliner, and 1 in each maplight) and this is how bright mine are at night:

Ha, the red bulbs in my rear clear corners look the pink, too.
