Is it ok to take those off? because ive heard it protects the paint on the hood from gettting too hot but idk. has anyone took it off?

I must have got gypped. I bought my '02 Z new and I didn't get any 'stuff' on the bottom side of my hood. I guess it's ok for it not to be there.

I know what he's referring to but can't think of the term for it off the top of my head, in regards to the original poster, yes, it can be removed. When I got my aftermarket hood it was never put back on and I have had no adverse effects.

its called a hood insulator, and as said, yes it can be taken off
