it reduces the strenth of your car and adds about 100 lbs... in short, makes your car slower, but if you want to... just take out your head liner and the plastic a pillar pieces and you will start getting an idea of where you need to cut. i saw a write up of it once but i dont know where its at now

I've done 4 conversions, and it adds MAYBE 5-10 pounds. The side beams that you cut out are heavy as hell, nearly that of the t-top you put in.

Get some subframes before you do it. The last install I did, the guy had subframes and an STB and other susp mods, his car fit PERFECT the FIRST time. I didn't have to mess with the weather stripping at all after the first water test. He had done that to his car early on, so there was minimal twisting of the subframes.

Another car I did, a 94 I believe, was warped to hell and had been a wreck he did not tell me about. Did the conversion anyway, but you could see the gaps with the naked eye. Check out my sig and let me know if you have any questions. $400 and I can do it to your car! LMK, the last guy drove from Vegas for me to do it! It's not super difficult, you just have to grow some juevos grandes!

So you think that 2 t-tops weigh 100 lbs??? Hate to break it to you but.....

there must be different options between the two cars, I can GUARANTEE you that there is not 100 lbs of difference with t-tops ALONE.

There are huge variances with F bodies. One might weigh 3643 and another might weigh 3527, and both could have been ordered identical from the same person, to the same dealership. You might have someone else say theirs weighs 3335, similarly optioned. I remember redaing a breakdown of weight for every factory option, and IIRC, t tops added 20-30 lbs max. AC adds a ton more than that alone.
