Default Lacquer thinner, Rubbing/Polishing Compounds, ECT.

What are your opinions on lacquer thinner? I've heard people talk about using it to take paint off their car that someone may have put on there by hitting it with another car door. Is it safe to the clearcoat? What about polishing/rubbing compound? I have never really had any luck with the Meguiar's Scratch-X.

PS: It is impossible to have a nice black daily driver in this city!

I think that lacquer thinner would be alittle strong but it might work in a small dose. Maybe try some alcohol first, I've had good luck with that getting **** off my paint. If you own a buffer, wet sand the spot, hit it with some heavy cut compound, and then finish up with a swirl remover and polish.

Depends on how bad it is. Also depending on the thinner. Rubbing a little wont hurt it. I use thinner at the shop I work for all time to clean marks off paint. Dont use it on plastic!!
