Default Who likes Sonus for "The Perfect Shine"

I ordered the random orbital buffer, pads, and Sonus "Perfect Shine Kit" last night.
I've let the detailing fall short on my car lately and it's probably in need of a good round of detailing attention. I hope this kit will bring back the shine.
I've been using Zaino for almost 2 years now, and while it makes the paint look shiney, I just don't think it protects it very well. It just doesn't seem to put a "thick" enough coat on the paint to protect it from small rocks and bug chips. Then again maybe the paint is just getting old.
Anyway I'm going to be trying out the perfect shine kit to see if it can do any better.

Aye now I can officially rant about Sonus. Their stuff sucks. I used SFX-1, SFX-2, and SFX-3 on my car and now I have what only can be described as GLITTER in my paint. It's embedded into the paint, you can only see it when the sun shines directly on it, but man it sucks. Especially on the black roof, the freaking paint glitters in the sun.

I would agree with meissenation that I dont like their stuff, but only because for the price I can get stuff that works way better. I haven't had the same problems as meissenation but just didn't care for it. There are products out there that are much better IMO.

Your better bet would've been Menzerna's products, now those products are amazing.

I had a little bit of the "glitter" problem too. It took some 3M rubbing compound with my buffer to get it out.

The "glittering" you guys are talking about is called micro-marring or hazing. It is caused by using a polish and not working it completely (until it fully breaks down).

This can be a common problem with certain products when working by hand or being impatient with a buffer/polisher.

Fast LS1 - there isn't going to be any wax or sealant out there that prevents rock or bug chips. Their purpose is to protect from UV and environmental elements. If you want to prevent rocks/bugs get a bra.

Werd, I was using a porter cable. Got any good links on not getting the micro-marring / hazing, ZaneO? I was taking my time with it, letting it really work it's magic, but then when it was all done, I had the "glitter."

What pad were you using with each polish?

Bought the Sonus bad kit, orange green and blue, used each pad respectively with the SFX-1, SFX-2, and SFX-3.

I'm not sure what happened. You just have to make sure to work each polish until it is almost dry.

You might have benefited from using SFX-3 with a polishing pad.

Yeh, guess I can always try it again this spring when I detail the car again. I'd want to do it now, but since my car is 365 year round daily driver, no sense in going all out detailing right before it gets snowed on in another month.
