Default 4th Gen Pontiac guys inside please....

Just gauging interest on a possible new accessory....

How many of you would be interested in getting a 1-piece taillight blackout assembly for your T/A, Formula or Bird?

A single blackout that covers both taillights as well as the center filler (that's right, you won't be able to use the key)

I think it's much cleaner and looks more like a factory piece than the blackouts that are available right now....

Anyhoo, lemme know what you guys think....

I'd like to try it out, may not look the best on some T/A's, but everyone has an opinion.

You're going to be miles ahead if you develop a second prototype mold that includes a keyhole. Power trunk latches were not standard equipment on all Firebirds, so the guys that don't have this option are automatically eliminated as potential customers. That's a significant portion of the market share.

I think you're definitely onto something here though.

Hell I'd give it a try, if I didn't like the way it looked I could always take it off.

Have you ever drilled a hole in plexiglass? The edge of the hole turns white from the drill bit grinding against it. I'm sure that would look attractive.

Aside from that, part of what makes an aftermarket item have value is the fact that all the footwork/engineering to make whatever application it's being used on look/perform better has already been done. People want something that is ready to be used straight out of the box.

I love the way my taillights look too, the honeycomb is just awesome IMO but I would be willing to try them if the price was right.

Would the filler panel part of the blackout be completely opaque plastic that would be better if it is , because I want to try blacking out my car but I dont want to take my decals off the filler
