I'm pretty sure mine is flat. I will run outside after I post this & double check.
Here is mine.
Now that I looked mine is indented or sunk into the plastic & the decal fills in the logo. It's not a logo painted or stickered on a smooth top.

nah, i read an article and they said SLP and MTI were the best . . . people say a lid is a lid, . but thats not true, . . on a stock z28 with some mods, (forgot what mod) it ran like 320 something, . with the other lids, it jumped to like 328-329, . . but the SLP lid jumped to 330 and 331 . . . the MTI jumped to about 330 but had the best track time, . . . again i don't recall the EXACT numbers thats why its most likely gonna be a SLP lid in my hood

I've custom painted a few dozen SLP lids, they are my favorite because they are fairly smooth to begin with. Only way to get that face smooth for a decal is to fill in the "SLP" with some glazing putty and feather it out. Prime and again feather. That may be good enough if you didn't go beyond the edges of the decal, but my suggestion would be to paint the lid in a nice gloss black and clearcoat for a great base for that decal to sit on.
