Default Goo Gone or 3M Adhesive Remover

I have to remove some 3M molding tape that was used for the body kit no longer on my car.

What would work better to remove it and still be paint safe? The Goo Gone I already have or 3M adhesive remover?

Thanks,
Lane

From my experiance there is really no comparison between the two. You can't beat the 3M Adhesive remover and the 3M paint cleaner. Is does say on the bottle that it can hurt the clear coat if you rub real hard but I have never had any problems using it yet.

I know that they make a goo gone specifically for auto paint. I bought some to remove pin stripes. I think it comes in a little kit with a paint safe scraper.

Agreed. I'd go with the 3M Adhesive Remover.

To remove double sided tape, pinstripes etc... you should get one of those pinstripe remover tools that go in a drill. like this one. this is a pneumatic one but you get the idea. theres nothing better than these if you have a lot of adhesive to remove or you will be doing it frequently. i've used the style that goes into a drill and it worked very well. if you use it wrong it will go thru the clear coat but its hard to do. 3m makes the tool also.

I got some 3m adhesive remover and it worked great. There was a spot that i rubbed too hard and took some clear off but other than that it saved me alot of time. Thanks for the replys!
