Hey, done it on just about ALL of my cars. What I do is remove the antenna, then take the ball off of the top with some pliers, cut off the amount that I want to remove, then shave the new top of the antenna a little so that the ball will fit over it. A couple swift hits with something will secure the ball back on.

I agree the antenna is ugly. The little ball on mine wouldnt just slide off w/ plyers. So I cut the ball off w/ a dremel, and cut the antenna down to the size I wanted. JB Welded, Sanded, painted, reinstalled

Bad pic, but you get the point

My buddy cut his stocker and it looked like ****, so I sprung for the $30 for a new Z06 antenna.

Looks much better than a cut unit, IMO.

Wow, that looks like my antenna. Just do it right and it wont look like ****. I would have sprung 30 bucks, but I didn't have 30 bucks to spend on an antenna. So I did it for 5 bucks in parts, that I already had in my house.

I bought a shorty from ebay for $1.00
It looked a little too fat compared to the stock one but I threw it on
anyways.
It kinda grew on me and I left it on.

Good suggestion to try cutting. You can always try cutting and remounting the ball or go w/ r/c ball, and if it looks like crap, just spend the $30 on teh antenna
