Default Want your Tail Lamps Smoked...?

I got the formula down pat. Perfect combination of Clear and Black to give the High Gloss and Smoke finish that gives your ride the stand alone appearance. I did my original set and they came out perfect. Not too dark and not too light. Professionally done in our down draft spray booth.
I understand that there is a company that does it for 150.00 + shipping. What I can do is 125.00 + shipping. What I would need is for you to send me your undamaged set of tail lamps. I'll refinish them and get them sent out in a day.Tried this procedure on hdlmps and it looks pretty good too. Only I dont make them as dark. If anyone is interested please E Mail me at A8SECNDGT@aol.com

You could do the same thing with a $10 can of VHT Niteshades & a can of clear coat...it looks exactly the same and mine held up for the entire ownership of my last vehicle..

Yeh, $10-$20 can of VHT Niteshades < $125. Granted one is "professional" but c'mon if you can't put a couple coats on using spray paint, can you do anything?

Can someone post Smoked Vs. Non-smoked tails? I just want to see what they look like.

Looks like they need wet sanded badly!

The tails from johnebgoode look much better. Not sure I'm willing to pay the $125 price but they do look better.

Thats a nice option for those people who dont want to do all the work and just wish to ship 'em and re-install.

As with those ProCarParts Whistler headlights, you can do this for cheaper but some people would rather just remove, and install then DIY.

Well, it looks like a good bit of difference between the nightshades pic and the ones that he has done. They do seem to look alot better and more professional. The finish isn't smooth looking at all on the nightshades pic, maybe this isn't the norm  wouldn't mind seeing some more pics.

Personally, I don't care much for the blackout look.

It reminds me of when everyone had "black outs" on their 5.0's..... lol

Hell...body shop by me has some of their personal vehicles with tinted lights. I wanted them to do my Camaro lights. They said it'd be $150 to spray them and there was no guarantee they'd last. I bought a pint of onxy black for $10 and used the left over clear from painting a set of steel wheels and mixed in the black till it looked dark enough then sprayed 4 coats on the lights. They look super dark during the day on a black car but the lights shine through fine and at night you can't even tell they're tinted with the lights on. I only had them on for a few months then I swapped them out for exports. I do need to wetsand the bug out of one and the small sag out of the other.

My little brother did his GTP tails. After 3-4 times of doing it, he's got it down pat. He just ordered some more VHT and is gonna do mine. I'll post pics when it's done.
