Default Where to get a WS-6 lower air box?

I am going to a WS9 hood from a base TA and to fully benefit from the ramair i need a lower air box from a WS6(i assume its taller than mine as i have heard).I also wonder if i will still be able to keep my aftermarket lid? I assume so. My question is where to get the lower air box? GM dealer has one for $122.55, Is there anyplace else to get one?

Damn thats more than what I thought. I got mine for $10 off a friend. Now I just need a WS9 Outlaw hood.

If I were you, I'd go to a junk yard and see if there are any ws6's in there you can take it off. Or check to people parting their cars out.

Does anyone have the part number for the lower WS6 airbox from Fred Beans? I am in the same boat, going from regular T/A hood to Ram-Air hood and I also need the lower WS6 airbox. Thanks in advance.

Phone # is 800.306.4672 and i forgot the PN but these guys know their **** and when i called them they knew exactly what i was wanting, they are a huge dealership group but this # is to the dealership that deals with their performance parts and the dude to talk to is gene. Main page for all their dealers is https://secure.webmakerx.net/Contact...=fredbeans.com You know your ordering the right part if the total comes to $76.85+7.95 shipping!

Sam32 It would be hard to guess how much you would gain but the main idea here is that you can put a ram-air hood on your car and it will be functional, however to fully benefit and get a good seal for full ram-air effect you need the lower air-filter housing from a WS-6 which is taller then the reg housing so it ends up sealing the hood to your air-box (this is my understanding, if someone can expand on this feel free please) I got this info from roger(US exotics) who makes the WS9 hood i bought!

Here is the part # from gmpartsdirect 12455209. The list price is $69.86. It is listed as a support but it is the right part.

ok cause when i bought my car i didnt know that the WS6 has a taller lower airbox, cause my car had some frontend work done to it befor i bought it. and it has to short lower airbox, and its a WS6. So it would better for me to buy the taller lower lide, thanx DogNutz, cause i didnt think it would matter, but thanx

I just received my lower box today from Fred Bean and the part ## listed above by 2000blackta is correct! I wish i would have found it on my initial search in gm parts direct but that damn site was harder to navigate than uncharted rain forest! But once you have a PN wala! Oh and how can i forget.........My lid came to me busted all to hell!!!!!!!!! I mean the whole area just behind where your lid tabs slide-in is just GONE!! I can't believe that whoever packaged it could have missed it!! My freakin 6 yr old daughter opened my package and said "daddy, it's broke..see??" It's not like it was broken in the shipping process otherwise the damn piece that's missing would be in the box and about a foot long by 3 inches deep!!! I will be making a call bright and early!!
