Default My hood idea

I know this is not the best draw up of it, but has anyone every thought of doing this. I think it would be sweet looking and might try it. Any input on How hard this would be? In this drawing the hood opens the way it does factory but not going up in the front but in the back....Again I just put the on paper real fast.

I had a similar idea a while ago, basically making the hood open like a corvette hood. I like your idea, very unique and it would make engine work much easier.

That link isn't turning up a page.

I have wanted to do this for a very long time, but was told it would be real hard to make work.

No doubt the fabrication would be difficult, but the rewards would be worth it...maybe not in convenience, but definitely with the cool-factor.

I'd say do some really close looking at corvettes and the hardware used to make them work. Chances are you could adapt existing corvette hardware for use on an f-bod if you had access to that sort of thing.

Sweet man; all good ideas start on the drawing board! As an econ guy, I know that creativity and innovation is what makes our country the best in the world (and thus of course the best cars)

I know its not a Camaro, but here's a writeup on about what it takes to do it. Its done on a 53-56 F100. But this way you can look at whats involved and see if its a project that you wouldnt mind tackling.

Here's the link

Its been done for years in the show truck world. Ive seen a boatload of Silverado's with this done. You might be able to use Corvette components to make it work, but I dunno how the bracket mounting, or the hood supports will work at supporting the Fbody hood. I also think it'll take some time to get the clearances right so you arent opening the hood up onto the nose.

That would steal the car shows, but I just don;t think it's very practical.

If you had headlight motor problems you would have to remove your hood
