Default How do you remove the front rad grill?

Hi, I've been having a look at removing the front grill from my Z28. I've got the clips on each end of the grill out but there appears to be 3 along the top and 3 along the bottom.

I can't seem to figure out how to release these clips. Do you have to take the whole bumper off??? Or is there an easier way??

BTW it's the plastic insert grill which has the license plate bracket on it.

well you have 2 choices

1. pull off your front bumper and get to the plastic nuts holding it

2. Pull hard and pray you dont scratch or crack your paint (some have good luck with this method)

put some gloves on, get a good grip, and pull. you really have to pull hard, nothings going to happen though. dont be afraid to bend the plastic grill insert, it isnt going to snap or anything.

Cheers thanks.

Well I'll give it ago tomorrow, it's got to look better than that hideous "Euro" grill and number plate (see sig).

You can just rip it off by hand but I suggest not doing it if the cover has been repainted. There is a high chance the distortion/flex will spider crack or bust the paint. The original paint on bumper covers is more durable/flexable than any aftermarket finish. A flex additive in the clear coat helps but it will never be as tough as the original.
