Default Trans Ams with painted calipers

I am upgrading my Firehawk with new cross drilled/slotted rotors. I want to paint the calipers and/or hats of the rotors to make them stand out.

Please post your pics so I can get some ideas.

Black-n-gold, ...,

I don't really know what color would go well with the Pewter. Black I imagine. Do you already have a color pattern with overlays or anything? I'd stick to it if so. Don't mix & match two many colors on the car.

Good Luck!

Have you thought about putting your build # on them like these? I think it looks pretty good! Sorry for the small pic but that's as big as it would let me put it without being over the 100kb limit! I can't seem to find the in between size for pics.

Pretty standard colors and easy to do. Rattle can caliper paint from wal-mart (red plasticote) and auto zone (black VHT). Been on for almost 2 years now. Clean with a large soft bristle paint brush

Thanks for the response. Those are great. About how much time do you have invested in these projects?

It took me only a couple of hours, I did about 3 to 4 coats of red then 2 to 3 coats of clear, about half an hour between each spraying.

Not too long on mine at all, I did it during my rotor swap... just takes the recommended paint drying time between coats... did 3 or 4 coats of red, 2 or 3 black, and then two coats of clear. Drying time i think was like 10 minutes between each coat... its been a while though. I spent probably 2 hours or more on it. Jack stands are your friend. The more of the 4 you can paint at once the less drying time you will spend.

About 4 hours or so. Most of it was spent in prep work. A rotorary tool with wire wheel takes off most of the crap off of the caliper.

5 for wire wheels,
15 for the paint kit
20 for the decal,
5 for high temp. spray clear coat
1 masking tape

Total
46 bucks or so
