Default question about removing vinyl..

Hey, I am removing my blackbird stripes before I take my car to get painted next week. Any tricks to taking off vinyl, or just rip em off? thanks.

Biggest tip: take your time and be careful. Granted, you're getting it painted next week, but when I peeled the vinyl off my front bumper, it took my clearcoat off with it... and even then I was pretty careful

I just bought White blackbird stripes last week. I hated the way it looked, pulled them off yesterday and just ordered silver metallic. All you gotta do is pour hot water on the stripe as your pulling it off, this softens the vynl making it more stretchy, works beautifully, you'll be done in 5 minutes. At first I tried when the car was freezing, I would have been there all day.

Or you can use a hair dryer to get the same effect as the hot water
