Default Under carriage cleaning tips??

I have a 2000 SS and the underside of the car is real dirty, not only from road grim, oil splashing and the rear diff cover leaking. I have never cleaned the whole underside and its in dire need.
I am determined to clean and make look new what i can, but I need some tips.
Instead of just using simple green, water and wiping things down, what are a few tricks you guys use to get the underside sparkling?
Any info is appreciated.

if you have access to a lift or can get the car high enough using any other method, power wash the thing

I dont have a lift, so I have to use jack stands. But the car is about 24 inches off the ground. I figured I would use alot of brake clean, and elbow grease.

My tip is to wear goggles. Some cleaner /gunk is going to drool down on you. It can very easily get in your eyes.

After you gunk it and the ground underneath dries you can get under with some rags and cleaner and fine tune it.

I got my underside pretty clean so far. I decided to clean up the front inner wheel wells, There is so much crap it is crazy. I have gone thru about 6 cans of brake clean and havent even put a dent in it.
I was thinking of borrowing my parents power washer to get the 6 years of crap off and actually get it clean. Do you think that will do the trick?

THe front fender liners unbolt very easily if you pull the tires. And you then can clean behind the liners.

I took those out and there was little to no crap behind them. But where it should be silver like in your pics, mine is black and is about quarter of a inch thick of 6 years build up.

I use simple green diluted with water. Spray it let it soak in hose off. And detail as neccessary.

Good Luck

Do you have a loom cover over your lines? if not it looks like they are chrome. Nice looking car by the way, I wish mine could be that clean.

All of the factory loom was replaced with chrome loom under the car. The chrome is actually easier to keep clean. And thanks for the compliment.
It' still under it's winter Direct Port nitrous build.Should finally be done this month.3 stages of Nitrous,LOUD tunes,a very low stance and CALI weather.

To tell the truth it spent way to much time parked in the garage last year.
