Default Best towel to dry car off with

Its a Black Trans AM, tough color - I know, but I like it.

To help avoid swirls/scuffs when towel drying, what is the best towel to use?

There were threads about this a few years ago, but I forgot the brand names, and where to get them.

the absorber is the best.

just slide it across the car and it picks up the water. I always use a bucket of clean water to rinse it and it works good.

then i use a terry towel with meguiars quick detailer to get the streaks and water spots.

bed bath and beyond has some supima cotton towels by wamsutta made in the US. At a fairly reasonable price. They are very large and absorbant. Also check JC Penny for their high end towels.

I always start with a quick run of a water blade to get all the excess water off. Then I use a waffle weave towel, it works great. Absorbs a lot but also doesnt leave any streaks or water spots. My favorite towel by far.

Water blade = bad Let a piece of dirt get under it and watch what hapens

I use the absorber to get the majority of the water off and a waffle weave town to finish up and then microfiber and a detailing spray for the finish.

Do a search for microfiber on here and LS2.com. One guy did a nice comparison.

Thanks for the tips so far.

1 Question - What is an Absorber?

A type of towel? & where to get one.

http://www.theabsorber.com/home.html Target sells them... I have had the same one for over 10 years, it works really well for first pass drying. I follow it with a micro fibre to get any streaks that the Absorber leaves.

If it does then you can take them to court, because they say the waterblade does not let dirt or anything get trapped between it....

I use the Water Blade, and The Absorber as well, and it works wonder...I have black also...

Yeah they can be bad if you dont take care of them, wash them before and after use and keep them in the case they came with. Ive never had any problems, been using it for years. In my opinion it saved my car from a lot of towel swirls, since my car barely has any.

Don't be discouraged it it doesn't work perfectly right away. From my experience with them, they get better, the more you use them. Don't be afraid to throw it in the washing machine, even before the first use.

I just bought a Porter Cable polisher kit that came with a couple of nice general purpose microfiber towels. I was going to order more of them on-line but to my surprise the local Pep Boys had a big selection of microfiber products. In fact they had alot of nice detailing products there including The Absorber which I almost bought. I picked up a large size microfiber drying towel instead and some polishing cloths. They had quite a selection of drying products there.

yeah costco's got these yellow microfiber towels that come in like 10 to a package, but they work real well, and they're real cheap. My old man keeps two extra packages in the basement "just in case".

Absorber.. hand down. Been using Absorbers for a good 6-7yrs or so.

I recently just got a water blade... the trick is to clean it REALLY good before use. Also.. if you get dirt stuck on it... then you didnt do a good job cleaning your car beforehand.
