Default Painting surounding pannels when in accident

my mom backed into my rear quarter pannel on my Firebird a few months ago. Its in the body shop now. Should they be painting the surrounding pannels to match the paint? Ive heard of that being done before.

If it's black, it probably isn't necessary.

Blending is necessary mostly with metallic paint or colors that can fade over time. Black paint, in good shape, really suffers from neither.

I'd say blending would be necessary. Panalpainting almost always ends up looking bad.

Sometimes it's necessary to blend, but not always.
It also depends on the time being paid from the insurance company.
