Default NXT wash plus wax, but what polish?

What polish goes with the NXT wash and NXT wax?

You really don't need any polish at all with the NXT Wax.

I just use the NXT Car Wash and then put on a coat of NXT Tech Wax, and the results are awesome

I'll try that. So this wax is an abrasive? I have a few swirl marks I'd like to remove. I'm going to buy a buffer for waxing.

Depends.. what kind of shape is your paint in? Swirls? Fine scratches? The opposite, no swirls?

Evaluate your paint surface before you decide on what to use. You may need a heavy polish.. you may not.

Paint overall is in pretty good shape. This is after NXT wash and nothing else.

I use NXT but all I use under it is some mothers glaze and sometimes deoxidizer under that. Thats only because Im trying to get rid of it so I can swtich over to Meguiars glaze. The results are nice and scratchless though.

Kman went to a Meguiars class and asked ??? re: our f-bodies, found out that the clearcoat GM used is super hard, durable, so getting an abrasive polish that works with a Porter Cable would do you REAL good.

After the wash I claybar'd my car, then used Meguiars #83 using the 8006 pad and set the Porter Cable @5, what Meguiars recommends.

Then, used Meguiars #80, polish wish some mild abrasives using the 8006 pad, finally 2 coats of NXT via Porter Cable & 9006 pad & set the Porter Cable @3...

Use a foam wax applicator for the spots where you cannot use the PC.

When using #83, you don't have to apply pressure, weight of the PC is just fine!
Apply 10-15lbs pressure when giving your car a coat of #80.

Wax application for NXT is set the PC to 3, no pressure is necessary.

You still need to apply pressure with #83... same as #80.

On my black paint, applying pressure using #83 didn't look as good as not applying, that's what I discovered, it left new swirl marks...I just took it reeeeeal slow and no pressure, came out very nice...

#83 is a borderline rotary only product .. it can be very picky, and most people can get just as good of results using #80 multiple times.

when using #83 with a PC, you almost always need to follow up with another product, like #80 ..

#83 does require pressure, just like anything else with some cutting ability.

my friend told me to moisten the applicator pads before waxing a car, i tried it and it applied alot easier. but dose the wax loose its effictiveness (sp) because the pad is wet?

Exactly my thoughts.. matter of fact I wouldnt use #83 without intending to follow up with a finishing polish.

About moistening the pad.. its a good idea, I do it everytime. I use a quick detailer to spritz a applicator and then rub it in with my fingers before applying anything.
