Default Would you like for your car to look like a Dick Harrell Camaro?

My roommate and I are getting ready to start designing kit cars for the F-bodys but it struck me last night how gorgeous the 2002 Dick Harrell Camaro is. It would be pretty easy to make the front and rear panels from fiberglass, the hood and spoiler can be bought from sponsors, and the front spoiler on the bumper can be easily made. All you would have to do is bolt on and paint. If you are interested please vote and post up. The more feedback we get on this the faster we will get to making them. To any members that own a Dick Harrell car please do not be offended by us doing this or if i may have any pictures of your car in my photo album. Please check out the photo album to see many pics of what your car could look like. Click Here

**Edit** Many thing have been learned since the creation of this thread. I know now that the front and rear bumpers must be replaced, along with the front panels. The rear panels are fiberglassed on. These are not bolt on items. **Edit**

Buy a Dick Harrell car for 100+k and enjoy the status.

Buy a body kit and pimp it on this site and be the new rice of American Muscle.

That's just me. ~Joshua

I'd buy one. As long as the fenders price doesn't run much more than the hoods. I have heard of people not wanting to attempt this due to support factors of the fenders.

However, I don't know why you couldnt produce a simple fiberglass flare to 'bolt on" to the original fenders. You could then have a shop mold this to the body when it was being painted. I believe this would be a cheaper way to attempt this project rather than producing an actual fender replacement. This would also keep the costs down and more people would be likely to buy it. Let me know if you need a test mule!

I guess you call people "rice" who buy aftermarket hoods, spoilers, stripes, wheels, etc. too Firehawk? Rice is a Japanese product. We are already fast and have nothing to prove

rice = tacky ****

there's nothing tacky about that car. dead sexy. if GM had made the Camaro look like that from the factory, they probably wouldn't have lost the car at all.

i heard they made he fenders out of steel due to the high flex that the fiberglass wouldnt take. good luck though. i hope you can do it.

I do like the DH cars but I'd rather have my car sound like one than look like one.

Wow, I really am surprised to hear this from you. Aren't you the guy who is putting together a company of solely appearance mods??? You're the guy who polished his engine, but somehow, making the camaro look more muscular is the new rice of American muscle...????

I'm all for it, I just don't understand how you can be so hippocritical.

Just me but a non functional cowl hood, mixed with a duck tail spoiler doesn't feel like muscle but more like rice. Only if it uses the air from a cowl that tall and the Spoiler were actually functional would I think it were muscular. Otherwise, tacky.

If you want to design a body kit, think of something original. That would be your best hope.

Anyone that says the Berger Camaro or any aspect of its appearance is anything but muscle is a moron. IMO the Berger body is THE ONLY BODY KIT that should be put on a Camaro, every other kit looks like something a high school kid would nut all over.

Divergent Lightning, do you think the high rise spoilers on the TAs are rice since technically they add zero performance value? What about the non-functional vents all over the TA body? You can argue that they help "cool", but that would be a totally ridiculous statement made by someone in complete denial.

I'm all over that front bumper but the spoiler i'm not a fan of. I'd love those rear fenders but you would most def. have to get 11" wide wheels.

IMO that car is sex on wheels and there would be nothing wrong with re-producing a clone of it as long as the badge isn't put on the car.

I dont really care for the front chin all that much (just reminds me of a snow plow...) but if the front fenders would line up w/ the stock bumper, and the rears would "bolt" on so to speak, I'd be all for it.

It would def be a nice addition not only to the guys who want wider rear tires for the street, but the guys who run meats out at the strip Im sure. Most of those guys have the fab knowledge to mini tub and ****, but this could give all of us a very aggressive stance.

I would like to do this on my car and if I did the front bumper spoiler wouldnt get done on my car...I dont like it. The rear spoiler...ehh it kinda fits. Picture the car without it and you will see what I mean, maybe an SS spoiler could pull it off. I see no rice whatsoever in this body, it looks like total muscle. I just dont want a bunch of people thinking I am ripping anyone off that originally came up with it. I just think it sucks that GMMG wont produce this when we know there is a demand for it. And you would have to run some meat in the rear or it wouldnt look right at all.

See if you can come up with something for the t/a's. As far as fenders go.

That car is okay, but it is borderline tasteless IMO. As for everyone taking shots at Firehawk#608, fire away...he is entitled to his opinion just like you are. I, however, agree with him on this one.

Am I hypocritical? No.

Rice to me is tacking on "go fast look items."

Adding a Dick Harrell kit and saying it's a Dick Harrell is wrong to me.

Polishing a motor or offering carbon fiber isn't saying you're a Dick Harrell car.

Most people here have no ******* idea what I think! It's for the common good, but I'll never for one ******* second offer body kits. Not me.
